Scripture Passage: Acts 17:26-27 & 1 Corinthians:12:27

“From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.”

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

Devotional Entry:

Something God has been pressing on my heart is that there’s two ways to go during this quarantine; we’re either going to get super close to Him or pretty distant. Moreover, it’s up to us which way we’re going to go. Sure, there’s the physical absence of church and people who keep us accountable. But there’s no absence of God. God is in our homes too!

God is calling us to pursue Him, even in a time like this. He is calling us to remember that “The Church” isn’t a physical place… It’s a body. We are the body of Christ. We are the church. And no matter where we find ourselves, the enemy cannot break us down.

Our daily lives have been disrupted. But that doesn’t mean our spiritual lives need to be disrupted as well! Let’s deepen our relationship with God by continuing to worship Him… by reading His Word… by praying… by still connecting to others… by obeying Him in all things!

Oh how tempting it is to lie down on the couch… curled up in a blanket with your head against a pillow. As Sunday services continue to be streamed online, I want to challenge you to get comfortable with being uncomfortable! Sit up straight in service to avoid the temptation of falling asleep. Stand up and shout your praises to the Lord during worship. It might feel weird if you’re alone or with a couple family members, but regardless of the setting of our room, God is our #1 priority.
